More Stuff… or Life Experiences?

as quoted in “Happy Money”

“Looking back on their past decisions …. 85% of people sided with Mark Twain, reporting that their biggest single regret was one of inaction, of passing up the chance to buy an experience when the opportunity came along.

The opposite was true for material goods; most people’s biggest regret was buying something that they wish they hadn’t.”

Four Ways to Find the MAGIC of Service

1. Get your share of Hugs

Get your hands dirty.

Join us on our next trip to Kenya for the ground breaking of the James Lawrence Dam site. We also have work to do at the Orphan Feeding Center and at the Women Business Center. We’re forming a 10 day work trip in September. (Details will be posted on our Facebook page

Join us at one of the Princess Festivals and bring some children who would not likely be able to attend such an empowering and enriching event.

Hold a fun fund raising event like Sylvie and Gen did. Donate the money to QW so we can pay for that dam, pull another woman (and her family) out of the Kibera Slum and/or provide tickets to teach Princess Power (Service) to more beautiful little girls burdened with cancer, living in a box truck, and/or who otherwise suffer through no fault of their own.

2. Help Organize Wonderful Things

Gen and Sylvie have parents who are so wise. These little girls, although beautiful and precious, are not DIVAS. They are tasting the joy of Service early and learning to love the “HAPPY” feelings that come with Service.

James Lawrence traveled the world in 2012 to amass 30 Iron Man distance sanctioned Triathlons leaving the old record of 20 in the distant dust. He and his wife, with 5 small children at home, were financially strapped from the effects of the recession, but did it anyway. James raised money and awareness for the awesome Quiet Way organization. In the spirit of SERVICE, he said his best experience was when he took a paralyzed companion through one ofthe grueling races. (See the Video).

Holly Sue Hatfield went on a diet of eating the same food that the poor people in Africa eat for 6 months and documented the whole thing in a blog. The realism of hunger was amazing when it was an affluent tall beautiful white woman documenting her challenges.

Adria Manary said that “enough was enough” and engaged Quiet Way together with the director of JKBAW, Edel Quinn Odongo to empower other human beings to lift themselves and their families up out of one of the worlds biggest slums and make the world a better place.

Karla Martin organized Riverton Elementary school to raise enough money to purchase a cow for the Butahli Women’s Coop. Karla came with us to officially hand over the keys to the cow newly named: “RIVERTON”. php? id = 11232503& itype= N G PS I D

3. Put Some Money to Work

I have a billionaire friend who makes $100 million per year. Conversely, I lost everything in the recession of

When we have lunch it’s still in his nature to see if I will pay for the meal.

Adelide - croppedWhat’s wrong with that picture?

How about a few crumbs for human beings who drink muddy water each day or who dream about being a princess but can’t brush their teeth until Walmart opens?

If you aren’t in a position to get your hands dirty (see above) but would like to help. Follow the lead of Christian and Victoria. Christian works for a national company who matches his $50 donation every month. He donates regularly and so does his employer for another $50. And just like that, we can deliver books to another library, provide training for 3 more women in the Business Development Operation, or buy a few more bags of cement for the next dam.

Make that a $10,000 donation for the 2014-2015 program at JKWBI and we’ll name a program after you for the year …. And we will video tape students thanking you personally.

For everyone who donates in the year 2014, (up until the work mission in September), we will put your name on two

glass balls. One we will put in a new permanent display at the Asembo Orphan Feeding Center … and a composite one we

will attempt to place it on the top of the highest mountain in Africa …. Mt. Kilimanjaro.

4. Sponsor a Child to be able to attend the Princess Festival

Kylie Taylor$25 sends a dreaming princess and her parent to the Festival

$50 sends her … plus … her two sisters and a parent to the Festival
